Nova Scotia has a very high success rate of harvest with the black bear population growth. There has been many Boone and Crocket record bears harvested here. Bears range from 200 to 500 pounds.

The season runs from the second Monday in September until the first Saturday in December. Hunters may use rifle, muzzleloader, bow or crossbow.
